A season of awards for Iorfa

Youngster Dominic Iorfa started his Wolverhampton Wanderers career as a first team player with an award and ended the 2014/15 season in style as he emerged winner of the club's Young Professional of the Season to complete a season of awards.
Iorfa played a key role as Kenny Jackett's side fought the good fight, but placed seventh and lost out for a place in the Championship play-offs on goal difference after finishing on 78 points with Brentford and Ipswich Town.
Credit must go to Jackett, who demonstrated exceptional faith in the teenager.
Supersport.com learnt that Iorfa's exploits have since attracted the attention of some of the Premier League big clubs, but Wolves are keen to keep their academy product to boost their promotion bid next term.
Iorfa beat Kortney Hause and Jonathan Flatt to win the award at the impressive ceremony held at Telford International Centre on Wednesday night.
Interestingly, the youngster played a key role as Wolves fought back after a string of poor results to push for promotion.
It is a season of awards for Iorfa, who made his debut on a losing note in the 2-1 loss to eventual Championship winners, Bournemouth, but emerged as man of the match for his exploits.
Iorfa's exploits earned him the SkyBet Football League Player of the Month in January, coming a mere eight weeks after his debut for the first team, and he added another Wolves man of the match award against Ipswich, in April.
After picking up the Football League award, Arthur Benton, who was Iorfa's landlord during his formative years in the Championship club's academy, described him as the best talent he has mentored.
"This is about the 12th season that we've had kids with us," he said. "The only one that's really made it at Wolves out of all of them is Dom, and he's come on leaps and bounds.
"All of a sudden, he's got in the first team and he looks like he's been there for ages," he told BBC Sport.
The exploits of the youngster earned him an improved contract and an extension until 2017, with a year's option.
With the conclusion of club commitment for the season, the attention of the England under-20 fullback will be turned to the Toulon Invitational Tournament.
Iorfa, 19, grew up in Southend before being spotted by Wolves at the age of 15 and relocated to Wolverhampton, where he joined the academy.
A loan spell with lower division side Shrewsbury followed at the age of 18 and now, just a mere 12 months later, he finds himself being a key member of the Championship side that narrowly missed the play-offs.
Iorfa, is the son of a former Nigeria international of the same name, who played for several English clubs including Queens Park Rangers and Peterborough.
